The Norwich Terrier Club Open Show 8th April 2023

I would like to thank the Committee for the kind invitation to judge this show. It was such a friendly welcoming show, I congratulate the Committee on such a well run show. I would also like to thank the stewards who did a sterling job making the judging run smoothly.

Puppy Dog (1,0) 1st Crawley’s Mr Holmes Investigates Ragus, super compact cobby puppy with a lovely head and well placed ear, good bite, Good shoulder placement and straight front. Long ribcage, short body. Super red coat so well presented. Moved well keeping his top line on the move. Best Puppy Dog and BPIS. One destined for top honours in the future.

Junior Dog (2,0) 1 Graves’ Belleville I’m at Pipsacre, black & tan super head with width between ears, correct bite, good shoulder placement well angulated moving with drive.  2 Stevenson’s Brickin On We Go. Longer in body than 1st. Good head with broad muzzle and good bite. Good front with harsh coat. Well presented.

Special Beginners Dog (1,0) 1 Morris & Reid’s Brickin Blame The Game. Pleasing head with dark eye and correct bite. Good harsh jacket. Compact body. Moved well.

Novice Dog (0)

Post Graduate Dog (2,0) 1 Graves’ Belleville I’m at Pipsacre. Black and Tan. Good head proportions with strong muzzle and dark eye. Level top line kept on the move. Good depth of rib. Straight front and good rear angulation.  2 Stevenson’s Brickin All’s Fine and Dandy, unlucky to meet 1.  A quality dog with good head and expression good bite with large teeth. Pleasing to go over but not moving as well as 1 today.

Limit Dog (2,0) 1 Martin’s Ragus Oh Boy. Red. Very nice male to go over. Good head, with dark eye, really using his ears. Short and cobby, good depth of rib, super harsh coat. very well presented. Moved freely.  2 Crozier’s Sea Sky 8 years old, showing well for his age. A nice dog to go over. When in the challenge for Best Veteran I felt he had the edge and moved and showed the best. BVIS.

Open Dog (2,0) 1 Crawley’s Winflash Easter Parade, loved the head on this dog. Super ear placement and expression, dark eye and good bite. Well balanced with good topline, deep in rib. Good coat texture very well presented. Moved with real purpose. (Best Dog, Best Opposite Sex and Reserve BIS).  2 Armstrong & Lawrence’s Ragus Sweet Bay at Elantiz, another good type, with excellent head proportions with correct bite. Firm topline, well angulated, super coat, well presented. Moved well, covering the ground with ease. Reserve Best Dog.

Veteran Dog (1,0) 1 Crozier’s Misma of Brook Hall. An 8 year old dog. Pleasing head, dark eye, neat ears well placed. Shownig well.

Puppy Bitch (1,1)

Junior Bitch (1,0) 1 Stevenson’s Brickin Mint Edition. Red with excellent head and super expression. Good shoulder placement. Moved well. Best Puppy Bitch and Reserve BPIS

Special Beginners Bitch (1,0) 1 Webster’s Ragus Fun Loving Girl. A nice example of the breed. Pleasing head with dark eye.  Best Special Beginner in Show.

Novice Bitch (no entries)

Post Graduate Bitch (2,0) 1 Graves’ Pipsacre Spring Tide. Red. Super head, straight front, harsh jacket. Straight front, kept outline on the move.  2 Watkins’ Trutillian Perfect Life. Just preferred 1. Again, a pleasing head with dark eye and good bite. Moved and showed well. A nice type

Limit Bitch (2,0) 1 Baldwin’s Ragus Isn’t It Romantic. Super type with strong head, dark eye and neat ears. Good front and neck leading to well laid shoulders. Short back with good depth of rib. Very strong hindquarters. A picture on the move, pleased to award her Best Bitch and Best in Show.

2 Armstrong & Egginton’s Elantiz Angels and Demons JW. Not as compact as 1. Good head proportions with neat ears, dark eye and correct bite. Very good tail set. Good hindquarters, unlucky to meet 1 today

Open Bitch (3,3)

Veteran Bitch (1,0) 1 Martin’s Tinkave Brown Eyed Girl at Kirmir. 8 years old. Good to see these veterans enjoying their day. A nice type, who showed well.
