BREED RECORD HOLDER

CH. RAGUS RINGS TRUE

A new Breed Record was created at L.K.A. in December 2008 when Ch. Ragus Rings True took his 19th. C.C. In 2009 he won a further 5 CCs bringing his final total to 24.

CH. ELVE THE SORCERER 

WAS THE PREVIOUS NORWICH BREED RECORD HOLDER

Ch. Elve The Sorcerer, born on 28th. June 1987 and bred by the late Mr. Michael Crawley, was the previous Breed Record holder, with a total of 18 C.C.s., a record which he held until December 2008. 
His record beat the former holder, Ch. Gotoground Widgeon Bunny, a drop-ear from pre-separation days who won 16 C.C.s in competition with both ear-carriage types. He sired 9 Champion offspring and a further 6 C.C. winners.

THE NEW BITCH RECORD HOLDER

CH. JAEVA MAID OF HONOUR

Ch. Jaeva Maid of Honour (dob 24/08/2014) owned by Mrs K. Tate, bred by Mr. M. Phillips. WINNER OF 17 CCs overtaking the previous Record Holder, Ch Jericho Hill Vixen, when she won her 15th ticket at Bath championship show, May 2017.

CH. JERICHO HILL VIXEN

WAS THE PREVIOUS NORWICH BITCH RECORD HOLDER

Ch. Jericho Hill Vixen (dob 27/06/1950) owned by Mrs. S. Monckton of Jericho kennels (est 1935), bred by Mr. G. Goodwin, won her record 14th C.C. in 1959, & held her place as top winning bitch until 2017.

GROUP WINNER

CH. WITHALDER LOCKSLEY, J.W. (Dog)

Born 28th. January 1969, Ch. Withalder Locksley was owned/bred by Major Norman Bradshaw and Mr. Reg. Finney. The winner of 8 C.C.s in total, and, later, the sire of 3 champions and a further C.C. winner, Withalder Locksley secured his place in breed history when he won the Terrier Group at Crufts in 1970.

CH. RAGUS GYPSY LOVE

Born 5th. September 1978, bred by Mrs. Freda Bell, and owned by Mrs. Lesley Crawley and the late Mrs. Marjorie Bunting, she took B.I.S. at the Windsor Show on 30th. June 1979 under Mr. R. William Taylor (Canada). She won a total of 8 C.C.s, all with B.O.B.

CH. WHINLATTER CHARADEJ.W. 

Born 7th. May 1958, bred by Miss M.M. Vaughan and owned by Miss Vaughan and Mrs. Fisher, he had 16 Champion offspring to his credit plus a further two C.C. winners. 

His record still stands today. 

TOP NORWICH TERRIER DAM

CH. RAGUS TRULY UNRULY

Born 7thDecember 2002, bred and owned by Mrs L. Crawley.

In 4 litters each sired by a different dog she produced 7 UK champions and 2 overseas champions (Four of which were in her first litter! A record for the breed). When her 7thUK champion qualified in 2010 she took over the dam record which had stood since 1966. Previous record holder Whinlatter Cracker of Turtillus produced 6 champions from 6 litters by 5 different dogs.

Truly Unruly was Top All-breed Terrier Brood in 2005 and held the NTC Top Brood bitch points trophy for 5 consecutive years, 2005-2009.

CH. RAGUS BLACK TIE

Born 10th. June 2004, bred by Mrs. Lesley Crawley, and awarded his first C.C. at L.K.A. on 10th. December 2004 on the day he was 6 months old, making him the youngest Norwich to win a C.C.

Ch. Cobby’s Bun O’Honey, Top winning bitch in the U.K. in 1992. She was not only the first undocked Norwich Champion but the first undocked Champion of any customarily docked breed in the U.K. She was on loan to the late Mr. Michael Crawley from her breeder, Mrs. Renée Sporre-Willes, in Sweden.

Ch. Redash Fairytale, the first undocked Champion bred in the U.K., bred and owned by Mrs. Ruth E. Corkhill.

Ch. Titanium Columbus ShCM, the first U.K. bred undocked male Champion, bred and owned by Mr. Tom and Mrs. Eileen Needham. Top winning Norwich male in 2006 ( Club Points Table)

(Ch. Glenhafod Arizona ex Kelltara Looby Lou of Drakesoak) Born 20th. May 2003
Bred by Mrs. G.W. James. Owners: Mr. T.G. & Mrs. A.G. Mason, Mr.S. & Mrs. J. Celba The first Norwich Terrier to gain the ShCM award, which he did at the age of 12 months in June 2004. 

The Show Certificate of Merit Award (ShCM)

In 2003 The Kennel Club introduced a new qualification, the Show Certificate of Merit, in order to encourage exhibitors to attend Open Shows.

The title “ShCM” may be used after the name of the dog on show entries and catalogues once awarded.

More than a dozen other Norwiches achieved this award prior to it being superseded & replaced in 2018 by:

The Show Certificate of Excellence (ShCEx)
The points system achieved from various awards is similar to the ShCM but the dogs need to achieve 50 points  (25 previously).
Points to  be gained by a dog aged 18 months and over,
The Kennel Club have applied this age stipulation to fit in with the range of other awards available including Junior Warrant which is for dogs aged 6 – 18 months old.
