Norwich & Norfolk Local Social Meet and Walk

being organised by Warwickshire/Worcestershire owners but allwelcome who’d like to come along!)

Sunday 5 December 2021 starting at 11am
The Walk: Perdiswell Park, Bilford Road, Worcester, WR3 8DX (Park for free at the Leisure Centre and meet by the Garden of Remembrance).

We’d love you to join us for a walk around Perdiswell Park which takes in a section of the Worcester & Birmingham Canal. It’s all on the flat so is very easily accessible and most of the pathways are well made-up (although in December there could be one or two slightly muddy areas so we’d recommend wellies or walking boots). There are dog bins and it is a very dog-friendly venue.

A leisurely dog walk around the park perimeter takes around 45 minutes to an hour but there are also many pathways across the park so if anyone wants a shorter route, it’s easy to cut through.

Parking:

There is easy, free parking at the Leisure Centre on Bilford Road where there are hot drinks and toilets available (and although dogs can’t be taken inside their cafe, takeaways are available).

Bonus Festive Option:

As the walk is in December, feel free to wear your festive hats or jumpers (Dogs too obviously!). We also thought it might be fun to incorporate a visit to an indoor “Doggy Christmas Fayre” which is taking place just on the edge of the park at the half way point. This will allow us to indulge in hot refreshments, look at the craft stalls or do some doggy Christmas shopping. There is apparently also going to be a fun dog show (hopefully there will be a “muddiest terrier” category if any of our dogs wants to participate!!). I believe there will be home-made dog treats on offer for our furry friends too! The Fayre is organised by somebody who is about to become the proud owner of her first ever Norwich Terrier (yay – maybe we’ve converted her!!) so I know that she and her helpers will give us a warm welcome!

For anyone who is really into Christmas fun, this is also the weekend of the famous annual “Worcester Victorian Fayre” so you could also head down into the city after the walk for a stroll round the Fayre, to hear the music, browse the stalls and have mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and mince pies!

If anyone is interested in joining us on the walk, please contact Lindsey Martin (LRM321@icloud.comor via the event on the new “Norfolk & Norwich Terrier Meets & Events” Facebook group and we’ll be happy to provide extra detail of travel routes and any other information you might want.
